The Department of External Relations has taken over and pursues several basic activities of the Slovkoncert art agency - the direct predecessor of the Music Centre - in organising and administrative assistance of concert art both at home and on international stages.

The Department's priorities include:

Central-European Music Festival in Žilina
presenting exceptionally gifted performers, winners of international competitions from Slovakia and abroad, with particular attention paid to the Central-European region
Sunday Mornings in the City of Bratislava Gallery in the Mirbach's Palace
the only standing regular series of concerts in Bratislava, boasting a long tradition
Young Talents' Forum
with appearances of Slovakia's young performers, participant of international performing competitions
Instructional concerts
for school children and young people
bringing Slovak performers to audiences of Slovak Institutes abroad
International Music Projects
setting up professional trips of Slovak artists abroad

Moreover, the Department of External Relations cooperates with numerous local organisers across Slovakia, together with whom it strives to maintain and develop music activities of local and regional importance featuring top Slovak performers (series of chamber concerts and small-scale festival events, instructional concerts for school children and young people and literature and music events with prominent Slovak actors and reciters).
